Smile Trainer: Privacy Policy

Smile Trainer (the "App") is operated by Peppertree. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information, including the one banner ad that keeps the App free.

The App has no user accounts and no server of its own. Your practice count, streak and practice history stay on your device, and the camera image never leaves it. The only data collected from your device is collected by the advertising software described below.

Camera Access

The App uses the front camera only to show a live mirror while you practice. Camera images are not analyzed, recorded, uploaded, transmitted or stored. No ad is shown on the camera practice screen or the result screen.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Completed-session count, practice streak and a practice history (the dates and times of completed sessions only). Stored locally on your device. This history contains no scores, ratings, camera images or face data, and we run no server that receives it.

Information Collected Through Advertising

The App shows one banner ad at the bottom of the home screen, served by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google's advertising software inside the App may collect from your device:

  • Your device's advertising identifier (the iOS IDFA or the Android advertising ID), or another device identifier if you have not allowed use of the advertising identifier
  • Ad interaction data, such as which ads were shown and tapped
  • An approximate location derived from your IP address
  • Diagnostic data such as crashes and performance

Google collects and processes this information under its own policies, not ours. We do not link it to anything in the App, because the App has no name, email address or account for it to be linked to, and your practice data never leaves your device. Information We Do Not Collect

  • No name, email, phone number or account data. The App has no sign-in.
  • No photos, videos or audio. The App does not take pictures, record video or use the microphone.
  • No contacts and no precise location.
  • No analytics SDK of our own.

Other Automatically Collected Information

  • Install, crash and platform telemetry that Apple and Google may collect through the App Store and Play Store, governed by their own privacy policies.
  • Crash and diagnostic reports from the operating system, only if you have opted in to share them with developers in your device settings.

Your Choices About Ads

  • Consent form. Where the law requires it (for example the EEA and the UK), Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) appears on first launch and asks whether ads may use your data. You can change your answer later in Settings > Ad privacy options, which is shown where the form applies.
  • App Tracking Transparency (iPhone). The system prompt asking whether the App may track you across other companies' apps and websites appears only after the consent step allows it. If you decline, you keep the whole App and see less relevant ads.
  • Device settings. You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your device's privacy settings at any time.

How We Use Information

  • To run the daily practice limit, the streak and the practice history on your device.
  • To show the banner ad that keeps the App free.
  • To answer support requests you send us by email.

We never sell, rent or trade your practice data, because we never receive it.

Third-Party Services

The App includes two third-party services: Google AdMob (the banner ad) and Google User Messaging Platform (the consent form). It includes no separate analytics SDK and takes no payments. Apart from the ad requests above and the standard crash and diagnostic reporting your operating system may send to Apple or Google, no data leaves your device. Opening the Privacy Policy, Terms or Contact page from Settings loads apps.peppertree.so in your browser.

Data Storage and Security

  • All app data is stored locally on your device.
  • The App does not sync to any cloud service.
  • Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
  • Data collected by Google is retained under Google's policies.

Your Rights

  • Uninstalling the App deletes your practice data from your device.
  • We hold no personal data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf.
  • To exercise rights over data Google holds, use your Google account and device privacy controls, or Ad privacy options in Settings where it is shown.

Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy by changing the Last Updated date above. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept it.
