RainyMood: Privacy Policy

RainyMood (the "App") is operated by Peppertree. This policy explains what the App stores on your phone, what it sends over the internet, and what we do not do.

What stays on your phone

  • Mood check-ins, optional notes and the weather snapshot saved with each check-in
  • Your settings: weather alerts, mood reminder, weather sensitivity
  • The most recent weather and the check-in streak

All of this is kept in the App's storage on your device. There is no account, and we run no server that receives it. Deleting the App removes it.

What is sent over the internet

To show the weather and plan a rain alert, the App asks Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), a weather data service, for a forecast. Each request carries your phone's approximate coordinates (city-level), taken from the location permission you grant. Like any internet request, it also reveals your IP address to Open-Meteo.

  • The request is made when you open the App for the first time each day, when you pull down to refresh, when you tap Retry, when you switch Weather Alerts on, and when you change the weather sensitivity
  • Peppertree does not receive, store or link these coordinates to you
  • Open-Meteo handles the request under its own terms and privacy policy, which you can read at open-meteo.com
  • Forecasts come from Open-Meteo.com, used under CC BY 4.0

Nothing else leaves your phone. The App contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking SDK, does not show ads and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Permissions

  • Location (while using the App): used only to get the forecast for where you are. The App does not read your location in the background
  • Notifications: used for the rain alert and the optional 8 PM mood reminder. Both are scheduled on your phone, not sent from a server

You can turn either permission off at any time in your phone's settings, and the App keeps working without it, with less to show.

How the rain alert works

The App reads the forecast when it fetches the weather and schedules one notification on your phone for about an hour before the next rain in the following 24 hours, using the sensitivity you chose. It does not monitor the weather in the background.

Your rights

  • Access and edit your data: it is on your device, inside the App
  • Delete your data: uninstall the App
  • Withdraw permissions: use your phone's settings

Children's Privacy

This App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new last updated date.
