All 92 kana, hiragana and katakana, in your first weeks of Japanese. KanaFlip is a flashcard and swipe-quiz app that sticks to kana. You don't need an account, it skips the wider curriculum, and it won't guilt you over streaks.
Why KanaFlip is different
KanaFlip does not try to teach grammar or sell a year-long curriculum. Flip cards show the character, its romaji, pronunciation audio, and one or two beginner-friendly example words that begin with it. In Swipe Quiz, large sticky rails on both sides of the card and a card that tints red or green keep the direction obvious.

- How many characters do I learn a day?
- KanaFlip introduces up to 5 new characters a day and shows a countdown to the next batch. You can quiz and review characters you already know as much as you like.
- Does KanaFlip have pronunciation audio?
- Every character in KanaFlip has audio pronunciation. Each flip card also shows the character, its romaji, and beginner-friendly example words.
- How does the swipe quiz work?
- In KanaFlip's Swipe Quiz you hear the pronunciation and swipe right if the character matches, left if it does not. Large rails on both sides and a card that tints red or green make the direction clear.
