IsCold: Privacy Policy

IsCold (the "App") is operated by Peppertree. This policy explains what the App does with your information. The App does not use accounts, and it talks to no server that we run. Because it does load weather data from an outside service, this page names every outside service the App contacts.

Information We Collect

We do not run a server that receives your information, and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email address or phone number. The App does not ask you to sign up.

Stored on your device only

  • Your feedback: each check-in you log (how the day felt on the five-level scale, the date) together with the weather reading, the coordinates and the city name from the moment you logged it
  • IsCold Score: the 1 to 10 score calculated from your feedback
  • Reminder settings: whether the daily reminder is on and at what time

Feedback is kept for up to 30 days. You can delete everything at any time with Settings > Reset All Data, and uninstalling the App removes it too. We never receive this data.

Information Sent to Other Services

  • Open-Meteo (weather): each time the App loads the weather (when you open it, refresh it or log a check-in), it sends your device's coordinates to Open-Meteo (api.open-meteo.com) and receives the forecast. If you decline the location permission, the App sends the coordinates of a default city (Seoul) instead. Open-Meteo is a separate service with its own policy (Open-Meteo terms and privacy). Like any internet request, it reaches Open-Meteo together with your IP address. We do not receive, store or link these coordinates, and the App does not send an account, device identifier or your feedback with them
  • City name: the App converts your coordinates into a city name with your phone's built-in geocoder (Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android). That conversion is handled by the operating system under the platform provider's policy
  • Typefaces: the App downloads its fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.gstatic.com) the first time they are needed and keeps them afterwards. The request carries no location and no app data, and reaches the font host with your IP address like any web request

Permissions

  • Location (while using the App): used to load the weather for where you are. You can decline in the system prompt and the App shows a default city
  • Notifications: used for one optional daily reminder, scheduled on your device. You can decline or switch it off in Settings at any time

Advertising and Tracking

The App does not display advertisements, contains no advertising code, does not use your advertising identifier and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It includes no analytics or crash-reporting software. Apple and Google may collect install and crash statistics through their own app stores, governed by their policies.

How We Use Information

  • To show the weather, compare today with yesterday and calculate your IsCold Score on your device
  • To schedule your daily reminder on your device
  • To answer support requests that you send us by email

We never sell, rent or trade your information.

Data Retention and Your Choices

  • Feedback and the IsCold Score stay on your device for up to 30 days of history and are deleted by Reset All Data or by uninstalling
  • You can change location and notification permissions at any time in your phone's settings
  • We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
