Teppy: Privacy Policy

Teppy ("the app") is a fever and medication logging tool for parents, published by Peppertree.

What changed in version 1.1.0. Teppy used to show no ads at all. From 1.1.0 it shows a single banner ad at the bottom of the home screen, served by Google AdMob. The sections below say exactly what that does and does not mean. Everything you record in Teppy still stays on your device.

Your records stay on your device

Teppy has no accounts, no sign-up, no servers, and no cloud sync. Everything you enter (child profiles, temperature readings, medication doses, and notes) is stored only on your device using the operating system's local storage (SharedPreferences). This data never leaves your phone and is never transmitted to us or to anyone else.

Because we never receive it, we cannot read it, sell it, share it, or lose it. This is true of the fever records specifically, and it did not change when ads were added: Google AdMob never receives anything you log in Teppy.

Advertising

Teppy is free and is paid for by one banner ad at the bottom of the home screen. There are no full-screen ads, no video ads, no in-app purchases, and no subscriptions.

The banner is served by Google AdMob. To choose and measure an ad, AdMob may collect:

  • a device advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android),
  • advertising data such as whether an ad was shown, viewed, or tapped,
  • general technical information about the request, such as device type and approximate region derived from the network address.

This information is processed by Google as an independent controller under its own policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. We receive only aggregate revenue figures, never anything that identifies you.

Your choices

  • In the EEA, UK and Switzerland a consent form appears the first time you open the app. You can reopen it at any time from Settings → Ad Privacy Options and change your answer.
  • On iOS the system asks separately whether Teppy may track you across other companies' apps and websites. Declining is fine: every feature keeps working and you simply see less relevant ads.
  • On any device you can reset or disable your advertising identifier in the operating system's own settings.

What we still do not do

  • We do not use analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
  • We do not send your child's health records anywhere, to advertisers or to us.
  • We do not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, or location.
  • We have no account, so there is nothing about you for an advertising identifier to be linked back to.

Children's privacy

Teppy is designed for parents to record information about their children. It is not directed at children, and it is not distributed under a families or kids programme. Because every entry stays on the parent's device and nothing is collected or transmitted, the app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Data deletion

Your records live only on your device. To delete them, remove the entries in the app or uninstall Teppy; that permanently erases everything Teppy has stored. To clear advertising identifiers, use your device's own advertising settings.

Not a medical device

Teppy is a record-keeping tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, and it does not advise whether a fever is dangerous. Always follow your physician's guidance.
