PassGenie: Privacy Policy

PassGenie ("the App") is built and maintained by Peppertree.

Summary

PassGenie does not collect, transmit, or store any of your data. Passwords are generated on your device and never leave it. The App ships with no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, and no advertising networks.

What we do NOT collect

  • Personal identifiers (name, email, phone, address)
  • Usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports tied to you
  • The passwords you generate
  • Settings or preferences (these are stored locally on your device only)
  • Location, contacts, calendar, camera, photos, or any other device data

What stays on your device

  • Your generator options (type, length, uppercase, symbols)
  • Your password history, only if you turn it on in Settings: the last 20 passwords, with any labels you add
  • Your clipboard auto-clear delay, history, and biometric-lock preferences
  • Your theme preference
  • Whether you have completed onboarding

This data lives in your device's local storage. It is not backed up to our servers because we do not run any servers. Deleting the app removes all of it.

Network access

PassGenie does not make network requests to Peppertree. The App has no accounts, no cloud sync, and no analytics.

The only time the system network is used is when you tap a link in Settings (Privacy Policy, Terms, or Contact), which opens your system browser. When you share a password, the text is handed to the Android or iOS system share sheet (e.g. Messages, Nearby Share, AirDrop, KakaoTalk, email); PassGenie does not upload it anywhere.

Biometric unlock

If you turn on the biometric lock, PassGenie asks the operating system to verify you before opening the password history screen. On Android this is your fingerprint, face unlock, or screen lock; on iOS it is Face ID or Touch ID. The biometric data never leaves Google's or Apple's secure hardware; the App only receives a pass or fail result and stores nothing about it.

In-app purchases

PassGenie is free. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, and no ads.

Third-party services

There are no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporters, and no payment SDKs. The App does not phone home.

Children's privacy

PassGenie does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Your rights

Because we do not collect any data, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct on your behalf. You can remove all locally-stored data at any time by clearing your history in Settings or by deleting the app.
