MindCard: Privacy Policy

MindCard (the "App") is published by Peppertree. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information, including the one banner ad that keeps the App free.

The App has no user accounts and no server of its own. Your notes, saved cards, card history and redraw count stay on your device. The only data collected from your device is collected by the advertising software described below.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Optional notes you type on a card (up to 200 characters each), the cards you drew and saved, your card history, the current card and your redraw count. Stored locally on your device only. We run no server that receives them.

Information Collected Through Advertising

The App shows one banner ad at the bottom of the History tab, served by Google AdMob. No other screen shows ads. To serve and measure ads, Google's advertising software inside the App may collect from your device:

  • Your device's advertising identifier (the iOS IDFA or the Android advertising ID), or another device identifier if you have not allowed use of the advertising identifier
  • Ad interaction data, such as which ads were shown and tapped
  • An approximate location derived from your IP address
  • Diagnostic data such as crashes and performance

Google collects and processes this information under its own policies, not ours. We do not link it to anything in the App, because the App has no name, email address or account for it to be linked to, and your notes and cards never leave your device through the App. How Google uses data from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Information We Do Not Collect

  • No name, email, phone number or account data. The App has no sign-in.
  • No contacts, photos, camera or microphone access, and no precise location.
  • No analytics SDK of our own.

Other Automatically Collected Information

  • Install, crash and platform telemetry that Apple and Google may collect through the App Store and Play Store, governed by their own privacy policies.
  • Crash and diagnostic reports from the operating system, only if you have opted in to share them with developers in your device settings.
  • If device or cloud backup is turned on in your device settings, the operating system may include the App's local data (such as your notes) in your own backup. That backup belongs to your Apple or Google account, not to us.

Your Choices About Ads

  • Consent form (EEA and UK). Where the law requires it, Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) appears before any ad loads and asks whether ads may use your data.
  • App Tracking Transparency (iPhone). The system prompt asking whether the App may track you across other companies' apps and websites appears only after the consent step allows it. If you decline, you keep the whole App and see less relevant ads.
  • Device settings. You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your device's privacy settings at any time.

How We Use Information

  • To show today's card, your history and your saved cards on your device.
  • To limit redraws to 3 per 6-hour window.
  • To show the banner ad that keeps the App free.
  • To answer support requests you send us by email.

We never sell, rent or trade your notes or cards, because we never receive them.

Third-Party Services

The App includes two third-party services: Google AdMob (the banner ad) and Google User Messaging Platform (the consent form). It includes no separate analytics SDK and takes no payments. Sharing a card uses your device's share sheet and sends the card image only to the app you choose; the image does not include your note. Apart from the ad requests above and the standard crash and diagnostic reporting your operating system may send to Apple or Google, the App sends no data off your device. Opening the Privacy Policy, Terms or Contact page from Settings loads apps.peppertree.so in your browser.

Data Storage and Security

  • All app data is stored locally on your device.
  • The App does not sync to any cloud service of ours.
  • Uninstalling the App removes the locally stored data from your device.
  • Data collected by Google is retained under Google's policies.

Your Rights

  • You can edit or clear a note on a card at any time inside the App.
  • You can delete all data on your device by uninstalling the App.
  • We hold no personal data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf.
  • To exercise rights over data Google holds, use your Google account and device privacy controls.

Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated "Last updated" date.
