Lumio: Privacy Policy

Lumio (the "App") is operated by Peppertree. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information, including the one banner ad that keeps the App free.

The App has no user accounts and no server of its own. The fortunes you draw, your notes, your check-ins and your streak stay on your device. The only data collected from your device is collected by the advertising software described below.

Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Fortunes you have drawn or saved, the one-line notes you write, your evening check-ins, your streak and your reminder settings. Stored locally on your device only (in the App's own storage and, on iPhone, a shared container that lets the home screen widget read today's state). We run no server that receives them.

Information Collected Through Advertising

The App shows one banner ad at the bottom of the History tab, served by Google AdMob. The Fortune, Saved and Settings tabs never show ads. To serve and measure ads, Google's advertising software inside the App may collect from your device:

  • Your device's advertising identifier (the iOS IDFA or the Android advertising ID), or another device identifier if you have not allowed use of the advertising identifier
  • Ad interaction data, such as which ads were shown and tapped
  • An approximate location derived from your IP address
  • Diagnostic data such as crashes and performance

Google collects and processes this information under its own policies, not ours. We do not link it to anything in the App, because the App has no name, email address or account for it to be linked to, and your fortunes and notes never leave your device. Information We Do Not Collect

  • No name, email, phone number or account data. The App has no sign-in.
  • No contacts, photos, camera or microphone access, and no precise location.
  • No analytics SDK of our own.

Other Automatically Collected Information

  • Install, crash and platform telemetry that Apple and Google may collect through the App Store and Play Store, governed by their own privacy policies.
  • Crash and diagnostic reports from the operating system, only if you have opted in to share them with developers in your device settings.

Your Choices About Ads

  • Consent form (EEA and UK). Where the law requires it, Google's consent form (Google User Messaging Platform) appears at launch and asks whether ads may use your data. You can change your answer later in Settings > Ad privacy options, which is shown where the form applies.
  • App Tracking Transparency (iPhone). The system prompt asking whether the App may track you across other companies' apps and websites appears only after the consent step allows it. If you decline, you keep the whole App and see less relevant ads.
  • Device settings. You can limit ad personalization or reset your advertising identifier in your device's privacy settings at any time.

How We Use Information

  • To show your fortune, note, check-in, streak, History and Saved list on your device.
  • To show today's fortune and ritual status in the home screen widget on iPhone.
  • To schedule local reminder notifications, if you turn them on.
  • To show the banner ad that keeps the App free.
  • To answer support requests you send us by email.

We never sell, rent or trade your fortunes, notes or check-ins, because we never receive them.

Third-Party Services

The App includes two third-party services: Google AdMob (the banner ad) and Google User Messaging Platform (the consent form). It includes no separate analytics SDK and takes no payments. Apart from the ad and consent requests above and the standard crash and diagnostic reporting your operating system may send to Apple or Google, no data leaves your device. Opening the Privacy Policy, Terms or Contact page from Settings loads apps.peppertree.so in your browser.

Data Storage and Security

  • All app data is stored locally on your device.
  • The App does not sync to any cloud service and does not back up your data.
  • Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
  • Data collected by Google is retained under Google's policies.

Notifications

  • Reminders (tomorrow's fortune is ready, a daily reminder, an evening check-in) are notifications scheduled entirely on your device. They use no push server and no device token. We request notification permission only when you turn a reminder on, never automatically on launch.

Your Rights

  • You can view, edit or delete your notes, saved fortunes and reminders at any time inside the App.
  • You can delete all data on your device by uninstalling the App.
  • We hold no personal data on our servers, so there is nothing for us to export or delete on your behalf.
  • To exercise rights over data Google holds, use your Google account and device privacy controls, or Ad privacy options in Settings where it is shown.

Children's Privacy

This App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. The "Last Updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept it.
