Dearday: Privacy Policy — Dearday
Effective date: 2026-05-11
Version: 2.0
This Privacy Policy explains how the Dearday mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. The App is designed to be private by default: it requires no account, stores all your countdown data only on your device, and never transmits your data to any server we operate or to any third party.
1. Information You Provide to the App
When you create a countdown, you enter:
- A title (e.g., "Wedding", "Exam", "Trip")
- A target date
- A type (Regular or Anniversary)
- Optionally, reminder preferences (how many days ahead you'd like a notification)
This information is stored only on your device using Flutter's SharedPreferences API. We do not have a server, we do not have an account system, and we cannot access this data. If you uninstall the App, this data is deleted with it.
2. Information Collected Automatically
None. The App does not collect analytics, crash reports, telemetry, or usage data of any kind. There is no analytics SDK (no Firebase Analytics, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, etc.), no crash reporter (no Crashlytics, no Sentry), and no advertising network of any kind. The App makes no network calls during normal use.
If you opt in to local reminders, the App schedules them locally on your device via the operating system's notification scheduler. Reminder scheduling is entirely on-device and involves no remote server.
3. Information We Do NOT Collect
To be explicit, the App does not collect or transmit:
- Your name, email, phone number, or any account information.
- Your countdown titles, dates, or types.
- Your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera contents.
- Your precise or approximate location.
- Any device identifier, advertising identifier, or IDFA.
- Any health, financial, or biometric data.
- Any analytics or telemetry data of any kind.
4. Third-Party Services
None used by the App in v1.0. The App's binary links a payment SDK (purchases_flutter) so that a future Pro tier can be added without a re-architecture, but the SDK is not initialized in the v1.0 release build (the configuration key is intentionally omitted at build time). It makes no network calls and transmits no data.
If a future version of the App introduces a paid tier, this Privacy Policy will be updated, and the third-party processor handling purchases will be disclosed before the feature ships.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any of the information you enter into the App with anyone — because the information never leaves your device for us to share in the first place.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the relevant age). We do not collect information from any user, including children.
7. Your Rights
Because all of your data is stored only on your device, you can exercise your rights at any time without contacting us:
- Access / Export: view your countdowns inside the App.
- Correction: use the Edit option on any countdown.
- Deletion: use the Delete option, or uninstall the App.
You may also request a written statement confirming that no personal data leaves your device by emailing us (see Section 10).
8. Security
Because we do not transmit your countdown data anywhere, the security of your data depends on the security of your device. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date and using a screen lock and device encryption.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this document will reflect the latest revision. Material changes (for example, the future introduction of a paid tier or any third-party processor) will be communicated through an in-app notice and an updated store listing before the change takes effect.
10. Contact
For questions about this Privacy Policy, please see the Contact page (/docs/contact?lang=en) or email [email protected].
