Breakoffee: Privacy Policy

Breakoffee (the "App") is operated by Peppertree.

Summary

Breakoffee has no account and no server of its own. Everything you record in the App, including check-ins, cravings, symptoms, goals and your cup price, is stored only on your device and is never sent to us or to anyone else.

The App shows one banner ad on the Home screen, served by Google AdMob. To show and measure that ad, Google's software in the App may collect limited device and usage information. This policy explains what that is and how you can control it.

Information Stored Only on Your Device

The App keeps the following in on-device storage:

  • Coffee-free day check-ins, including days you add later
  • Cravings you resisted and how strong they were
  • Symptom logs (headache, heartburn, mood)
  • Your goal settings and cup price
  • App settings, such as whether the daily reminder is on, its time and its message style

This information never leaves your device, and we cannot see it. It may be included in your device's own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) if you have that turned on. That backup is handled by Apple or Google under their terms, not by us.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App displays one banner ad provided by Google AdMob, a service of Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA and UK). When the ad loads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK in the App may collect:

  • Device identifiers, such as the advertising identifier (IDFA on iPhone, advertising ID on Android), where you allow it
  • Your IP address, which can indicate your approximate location
  • Basic device information, such as device model, operating system version, language and screen size
  • Ad interaction data, such as when an ad is shown or tapped
  • Diagnostic information about the SDK's crashes and performance

Google uses this information to deliver and measure ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, and to prevent fraud and abuse, under Google's own privacy policy. We receive only aggregated reports from AdMob (for example, how many ads were shown). None of your records in the App is shared with Google.

Your Choices About Ads

  • App Tracking Transparency (iPhone): Before the ad SDK can use your device's advertising identifier, iOS asks for your permission. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", every feature of the App keeps working and the banner is still shown, but ads are not personalized with that identifier. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
  • Consent in the EEA and UK: Where the law requires it, the App shows a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform before any ad loads. If you do not consent to personalized ads, Google serves non-personalized ads, which are based on context such as the app content rather than your past activity. You can change your choice at any time in the App under Settings > Ad privacy options. This entry appears in regions where a consent choice is required.
  • Android: You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings (usually Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on the device).

Notifications

The App schedules local notifications for the daily reminder, which stays off until you turn it on, and for milestone alerts. They are created and delivered on your device. We do not send push notifications from a server.

Network Use

Apart from the ad and consent requests made by Google's SDKs described above, the App connects to the internet only to open our pages in your browser when you tap a link in Settings:

What We Do Not Do

  • We do not require an account or sign-in
  • We do not use analytics SDKs or tracking pixels of our own
  • We do not sell your data
  • We do not request access to your contacts, location, photos, microphone or camera

Your Rights

  • Access: all of your records are visible inside the App.
  • Delete: uninstalling the App removes all of its local data from your device.
  • Advertising data: use the choices above to limit how Google uses data for ads. For requests about data that Google holds, contact Google through its privacy policy.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ on the App Store, but it is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App stores its records only on the device. If you decline tracking on iPhone, ads are not personalized with your advertising identifier, and if you do not consent to personalized ads where consent is required, Google serves only non-personalized ads.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and mention the change in the App's release notes.
